Cycles is the result of blending the computational processes of Sol Lewitt’s wall drawings and the random explorations of John Cage into a hybrid concept of infinite possible wall drawings. The painters that create a Cycles image use a six-sided die and their artistic perceptions. In this sense, the description of a drawing from the artist and the work of painters together become the creators.
Exhibited publically in Yekaterinburg, Russia for Long Stories 7. Similar Lewitt, I created the description or concept of the drawing, seen at the bottom-left. Then the painters would realize the concept by following the instructions. After the proposal was accepted, I submitted the description to the Long Stories 7 directors who then assigned volunteers to paint the mural.
